GREEN IS THE NEW BLACK

GREEN IS THE NEW BLACK

How to say goodbye to Black Friday consumption and shop greener.

It is now widely known that our consumption habits are a major driver of climate change. But we know how difficult it is to stop shopping completely. You don't even have to! We have collected a few tips that can help you achieve a more sustainable shopping experience.

Check the material

It's not just about appearances: When you buy new things, you should always check if the materials are truly durable.

For clothes, for example, take a look at the textile label and consciously choose organic cotton over cheap polyester. Furniture made of solid wood is not only timeless but also significantly more robust than the cheap particleboard model.

Calculate the Cost per Use

You don't need to come up with a wild mathematical formula for this. Just ask yourself whether the price of your desired item justifies the frequency of use. Is it really realistic that the juicer will be used 3 times a week?

If so, it's worth paying attention to high-quality manufacturing. If not, you should question whether the special offer, broken down by applications, is really that cheap.

Don’t believe Green Washing

Almost all brands now claim to be sustainable. But just because something says "Recycled" doesn't mean the product is sustainable. Check their website to see how much the brand is doing for sustainability. If you don't find much, there's probably not much behind it.

Classifieds 1x1

The platform for used goods holds some treasures if you know how to search.

Filter by brands and models you know you like. This works very well, for example, with clothes on the Vinted platform.
